Campaign Donations

I am not accepting campaign donations at this time. I believe that those donations can be better spent as either a donation to a local organization that is sending care packages to our troops. Or to a medical research program like American Cancer Socirty, Juvenile Diabetes, etc..

The cost to send a U.S. Postal Flat Rate package overseas costs $8.10 each. This cost is projected to increase to $8.70 sometime later this spring.

Consider this thought: If each and every member of Congress donated postage for 1000 care packages from their campaign war chests to local organizations in their respective districts/states that were assembling these for our troops, approximately 535,000 packages could be sent to our brave men and women. I believe each one of these war chests could easily afford $8,700.00!

St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church in Deerfield, Illinois where I attend, completed its 11th troop night earlier in January. We have averaged about 75 packages per session. You cannot believe how important these life lines are to the troops. Their thank you letters are a precious reminder of how important we are for their morale and how important it is for us to recognize and appreciate their sacrifice.

I Support:

  1. Protection of our borders and America's war against global terrorism.
  2. Peace through diplomacy, yet recognizing that a strong volunteer military is ALWAYS necessary to protect U.S. global trade and trading partners.
  3. Improved recognition of our Veterans and treatment for their needs.
  4. All of the "Bill of Rights" as historically written
  5. Traditional family and religious values.
  6. The Boy Scouts of America and their traditional values contained in the Scout Oath and Law.
  7. A balanced budget with debt reduction and NO new taxes.
  8. Life long personal responsibility for health planning and maintenance.
  9. A Social Security program that does not punish retirement earnings, meets the needs of today's seniors, and provides for better/different choices for our children.
  10. The sensible protection of the global environment and conservation of resources through innovation and improved techonology.
  11. The death penalty for convicted criminals caught in the act of murder.
