Platform

The bookends and backbone of my platform are the Ten Commandments and a strong military.  One might liken this supporting frame to the keel of a ship.  The bulkheads which support our ship of state in order of importance are: family values, education, health, science, environment, finance, commerce, community involvement and homeland security.

The central ideas of my platform are: 

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS 

  • A vision statement for world peace negotiations
  • A return to basics for social interaction, business ethics and conduct by governmental officials   at all levels of governance
  • Guide lines for community standards
  • Guide lines for international commerce and humanitarian aid

FAMILY VALUES 

  • Supporting a Marriage Amendment – traditional marriage between man and woman
  • Encouraging families to reconsider faith based values
  • Stopping the erosion of the middle class
  • Cleaning-up the internet 

EDUCATION

  • English as the first language
  • Early childhood education
  • Parental responsibility
  • Reliance on local school districts
  • Local community resource sharing
  • State officials to be accountable for failing community schools
  • Federal aid as a last resort. Any Federal aid to be tied to percentage of voters casting ballots for local school board members  

HEALTH

  • Health as an individual responsibility
  • Parents are responsible for minors health and nutrition
  • Development of wellness programs and health service delivery around local community hospitals instead of through 3rd party administrators
  • Flexible savings plans to encourage long term savings for retirement health care
  • Portable, uniform, health insurance contract that includes wellness maintenance
  • Uniform medical coding and billing protocol based on a uniform national health and wellness contract
  • Alternative health plan for at risk adults because of poor health choices
  • Current taxes-on tobacco, alcohol, processed foods and restaurants to fund alternative health care plan
  • Fraud detection with vigorous prosecution, incarceration, restitution and forfeiture of assets
  • Federal government to research and set uniform health and wellness goals and nutrition standards
  • Federal government to fund research for efficacy of supplements and natural products for health improvement and disease management

SCIENCE

Increased funding through educational centers and/or associated hospitals for:

  • Causes of health related ailments and their cures
  • Research in the basic sciences that develop new chemical compounds, equipment and procedures that increase the success of early detection, assist in medical evaluation or treat health ailments
  • Protection for the public domain of the developed patents and licensing agreements that are/were funded with Federal dollars
  • Funding for particle physics, oceanographic, terrestrial and outer space research and exploration

ENVIRONMENT

  • National, immediate goals for the protection of the air, lake and ground water, costal ecosystems, oceans and land resources from pollution
  • National program to promote sustainable living with timely attainable goals
  • National goals for recycle and reduction programs
  • Energy conservation
  • Development of less polluting alternative energy sources
  • Become world leader in reforestation programs, costal ecosystem rehabilitation and surface mining restoration

FINANCE

  • Increased funding for Veteran’s Administration and protecting Veterans’ benefits
  • Streamlining and improving  service delivery of Veteran’s Administration programs
  • Eliminating the income tax and replacing with a flat tax on consumption
  • Eliminating the NATIONAL DEBT in 15 years
  • Eliminating federal employee and social security retirement programs over a 15 year period for employees not yet receiving pension payments
  • Duty on all IMPORTED manufactured products at the Social Security rate to reduce the National Debt and complete the phase out of the Social Security and Federal employee retirement programs
  • Uniform guidelines for Block Grants to States to eliminate all earmark programs for Congressional districts. Governors and state legislatures shall be responsible for grant allocations, administration and accountability
  • Reduce or eliminate aid to U.N. and all foreign countries until National Debt is retired

COMMERCE

  • 20 year plan to eliminating U.S. need for foreign energy resources
  • Reduce U.S. dependence on foreign manufacturing  to meet U.S. consumption needs
  • Reduce importation of manufactured products from countries with lesser environmental standards
  • Develop regional hydroponic agriculture for fresh fruits and vegetables
  • National debate on treaties and require their ratification by the states
  • Return Panama Canal to U.S. Authority
  • Regulation of internet pornography-U.S based and incoming international-as  commerce and using taxes collected for literacy and reading programs

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

  • The Boy Scouts of America
  • Reestablish the importance of community based programs that strengthen community fabric
  • Recruitment of volunteers and recognition of their contributions
  • National service requirement for all able bodied citizens and citizen applicants
  • Realign community based programs with Federal, State and local government services to create “one-stop shopping” facilities

HOMELAND SECURITY

  • Remove “Big Brother” intrusions into our privacy where appropriate
  • Continue programs and policies that increase our security
  • Swifter and more severe punishments for apprehended terrorists
  • Programs that prepare communities to manage crises through volunteer recruitment, training, resource allocation, resource sharing and multi-agency cooperation
  • Restructure the National Guard frame work – military component and civilian defense/disaster restoration component
  • Eliminate foreign ownership of any infrastructure facilities such as:  ship yards, ports of entry for international shipping, rail or transit systems, toll highways, potable water supplies, sewage treatment systems, electrical generating or distribution systems and petroleum product pipe lines
  • Merge Border Patrol with Custom Agents

MILITARY

  • Restatement of rules of engagement, shifting critical decisions closer to the soldier in harms way
  • All volunteer military
  • Increasing the number of all military billets
  • Utilize military for all border control responsibilities
  • Utilize military to staff and manage illegal alien holding and processing facilities
  • Research and develop new technology to protect and assist military personnel
  • Utilize 25,000 – 75,000 prison inmates for Iraq border patrol and service in Afghanistan and/or other selected military campaigns

I Support:

  1. Protection of our borders and America's war against global terrorism.
  2. Peace through diplomacy, yet recognizing that a strong volunteer military is ALWAYS necessary to protect U.S. global trade and trading partners.
  3. Improved recognition of our Veterans and treatment for their needs.
  4. All of the "Bill of Rights" as historically written
  5. Traditional family and religious values.
  6. The Boy Scouts of America and their traditional values contained in the Scout Oath and Law.
  7. A balanced budget with debt reduction and NO new taxes.
  8. Life long personal responsibility for health planning and maintenance.
  9. A Social Security program that does not punish retirement earnings, meets the needs of today's seniors, and provides for better/different choices for our children.
  10. The sensible protection of the global environment and conservation of resources through innovation and improved techonology.
  11. The death penalty for convicted criminals caught in the act of murder.
